Advice for My Fellow Business Owners

So now you have learned about my life. You have seen what I have done to run my own successful nail salon. You have learned the history of my culture and how we became the majority in this industry. None of this was easy. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be successful. Vietnamese people are generally hard-working and dedicated, and we tend to regard our families as a high priority and will work hard every day to protect and provide for them.

Unfortunately, one cultural difference I have experienced is that Vietnamese do their work, then go home to their families. American culture tends to emphasize striving to do more, to expand on their original dream. Americans want to grow.

Which perspective is correct? They both are. There is nothing wrong with putting in a hard day of work and going home to your family to spend time with them. My family is the most important thing to me. I also worry that if I don’t expand my business and my personal knowledge, I may fall behind, and my business could eventually suffer.

So what do we do?

That’s why I wrote this book. Not only to shine the light on how my culture expanded this industry, but to show you how to think about your future in the nail salon industry or any business you aspire to. If you’re a technician, a manager, or a business owner seeking ways to become more successful, I want to share what I have learned, teach some important concepts in business ownership, and share some success strategies many have not had the opportunity to learn.
